At Calhoun R-VIII we are incredibly proud of the wonderful staff  in our Early Childhood Center. Below are a list of these amazing people and some information about each of them. Brief information is provided next to each picture but if you'd like to learn more, click the teacher name.

Mrs. Pam Little

ECC/CCLC Director

I have been employed with Calhoun R-VIII School District since 1994 at the Program Coordinator of the Early Childhood Center and the CCLC Programs. I have assisted with incorporating the Early Childhood Center and CCLC Programs.  Believing all children deserves quality early education and after school care, I have been committed to doing what is best for children six weeks through twelve years.  I have been blessed to be involved in an early childhood center that has been recognized as one of the best in the state.

Mr. Steven Ward

Head Start Parent Advocate

My name is Steven Ward and I'm the Calhoun Early Childhood Center, Head Start Family Advocate. I've been in my position since the Fall of 2015. My job entails helping families get their children enrolled in our Early Head Start and Head Start programs. I'm also available to help families find other resources they may need, but are unsure of how to obtain. Examples include job and education opportunities, housing and energy assistance, health concerns and many more. My office hours are M-F, 8-4:30 and you can reach me at 660-694-3344 ext. 2402 or email sward@wcmcaa.org

 

Mrs. Judi Honeywell

Parents As Teachers (P.A.T.)

My name is Judi Honeywell. This is my first year as Parent Educator for the Calhoun/Leesville School Districts. I have worked in the early childhood field since 1992. The past 5 years I worked as Parent Educator for Clinton School District. I also worked for Head Start as a pre-k teacher, Early Head Start home visitor and staff support specialist.

My passion is helping parents be the best they can be. I believe through the Parents As Teachers program, parents are given the information and support they need to help their children develop the skills they need to be successful in life.

I have been employed with this district since 1994 as a first grade teacher for 7 years and then a preschool teacher.  In my tenure here, I have watched early childhood education evolve in our district into an effective and empowering catapult for the youngest of learners.  I am proud to be a part of an environment that fosters such an avenue of mutual respect between young students and teachers.  WE ARE EAGLE STRONG!

Mrs. Sandra Briggs

PreK Assistant Teacher 4A Room

I have been employed with Calhoun R-VIII School District for the last 16 years as a MPP Teacher Assistant. I am currently enrolled at State Fair Community College working towards an associate degree in early childhood.  Over these 16 years I have been lucky enough to witness the many positive changes that have occurred in our program  I have not only been lucky enough to see them happen, but have also helped implement them into our daily interactions with the children.

I am the lead teacher in one of the preschool classrooms in the Early Childhood Center. My goal for this year is to help our students self-regulate their behaviors.

Head Start

My position at the Calhoun Early Childhood Center is Lead Head Start teacher in the two-year-old classroom.  I have my Child Development Associates  credential and am currently working towards my Associates Degree with a double major in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education.

I have been working for the Calhoun Early Childhood Center since 2013. I am an assistant teacher in one of the preschool classrooms. My goal for this year is to learn the ins and outs of an effective preschool classroom.

Mrs. Miranda Carney

Head Start 2yr Lead Teacher

My name is Miranda Carney, and I have been with the Calhoun Early Childhood Center since December of 2008.  I have spent 1 one year working as a roamer, two years as the assistant teacher in the infant/toddler room, and have been the lead teacher in the Head Start room for the past 3 years.  I received my Child Development Associates Credential (CDA) in August of 2010, and Will graduate from State Fair Community College with my associates in Early Childhood on May 16th, 2014.

I have worked at the Calhoun Early Childhood Center for 16 years. I have watched it expand into a wonderful learning center that anyone should be proud to work in. It is a high-quality center where the children learn through their play and they have the chance to develop into lifelong learners.

I have worked for Calhoun in the Early Childhood Center since 2015. I am currently working in the infant/toddler room.

Mrs. Debra Rosebrough

PreK Roamer

My name is Debra Helena Rosebrough. I am the roamer at Calhoun Early Childhood Center. I really enjoy this position. I am allowed to interact with many of the children and fill in where needed. I find my position to be very fulfilling. My goal this year is the same as past years, to help the children grow emotionally, to learn social skills and to have fun at our incredible center.

My name is Tiffanie Weaver.  I live in Deepwater, MO.  I am married to my best friend, Charles Weaver, and I have two children, a son, Colt, and a daughter, Presley.

I have been with the Calhoun Early Childhood Center since December of 2012 as the lead teacher in of the CCLC Pre-School Program, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job!!

Roamer

I have been working for the Calhoun Early Childhood Center since 2015. I am a roamer and do my best to help where it's needed.

My goal for this year is to learn more about how to keep the kids interested in learning while they are having fun!

I have been working for Calhoun Early Childhood Center since 2015. I have the honor to work in every single classroom as a roamer. I am also an assistant after-school teacher.

Mrs. April Nelson

ECC Special Education

I began my career at Calhoun R-VIII in August of 2016 as the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. I had previously taught K-6 Special Education 4 years, High School Life Skills 1 year, Title 1 Reading and Math 3 years, 3rd grade 1 year and an Academic Teacher in Special Education for a GED program 4 months.

I obtained my Associate of Arts Degree in Education at State Fair Community College, Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Central Missouri State University, my certification for Special Education Mild to Moderate Disabilities K-12, and a Masters Degree Instructional Specialist in Special Education through Arkansas State University.

Teaching has been my passion since elementary school. My philosophy is "ALL children can learn" whatever it takes!! My goal is for each student and I to learn through experiences.

Mrs. Heather Hollinger

My name is Heather Hollinger.  I graduated from Calhoun High School in 1993.  After graduating, I provided childcare in my home for one year before becoming employed by the Calhoun Early Childhood Center.  I worked in the Infant/Toddler classroom until 2001, at which time I left due to personal reasons.   In 2005 I was re-employed by the Calhoun Early Childhood Center where I worked in the Infant/Toddler classroom.  In 2006 I began working in the after-school program.  I worked in the CCLC After School Program in the K-2 classroom for the next 5 years.  I am currently working in the Early Childhood Center as the head cook.  I have attend several classes in Early Childhood Education through Central Methodist University, as well as numerous conferences and workshops.  I have also completed training on the food program through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
